SHAFAQNA – The Grand Ayatollah Sistani answered a question about wearing jewellery by ladies.
Question: Can a lady wear ornamental ring, or bracelet, or necklace for the purpose of dressing up, and is such an act Halal or Haram?
The Grand Ayatollah Sistani: Such an act is Halal, but covering them from non-Mahram becomes Wajib, unless on the condition that bracelet and ring are safe from Haram act to happen or they are not shown for the purpose of attracting the attention of non-Mahrams.
