[Photos] Iraq: Palm Sunday in Nineveh

SHAFAQNA- Palm Sunday, also known as “Shanineh” or “Sha’anineh,” is one of the most important events in the Christian calendar, celebrated to mark the triumphant entry of Jesus Christ (AS) into Jerusalem (Beit-al-Moghaddas) one week before Easter. This day marks the beginning of the Holy Week (also called Passion Week) in Christian tradition.

For Christians, Palm Sunday symbolizes the end of Jesus’s (AS) earthly life and the start of journey towards the cross and resurrection. The day is filled with joy and hope, yet also reflects on the suffering and sacrifice of Christ (AS).
