Shafaqna English– The United States and Saudi Arabia will sign a preliminary agreement on energy cooperation and civilian nuclear technology, Energy Secretary Chris Wright stated during a press conference in the Saudi capital on Sunday (13 Apr 2025).
The USA’s official said that details on nuclear cooperation between the two countries would come later this year. He said the cooperation will focus on building a commercial nuclear power industry in the Kingdom, “with meaningful developments expected this year.”
In a statement after the press conference, Ben Dietderich, Press Secretary and Spokesperson for the USA’s Department of Energy, said: “On Sunday, USA’s Secretary of Energy Chris Wright announced that the United States and Saudi Arabia had agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding regarding energy cooperation.
