SHAFAQNA– Head of Iraq’s National Wisdom Movement, Seyyed Ammar Al-Hakim, issued a message of condolence following the passing of the Leader of the Catholic Church, stating that the Pope’s historic visit will remain etched in the memory of the Iraqi people and the world.
According to Shafaqna, citing the official website of the National Wisdom Movement, he expressed his deep sorrow over the death of Pope Francis.
In his message, Al-Hakim wrote: With great sadness, we have received the news of the passing of Pope Francis, the Head of the Vatican. On this solemn occasion, we recall his vital role in promoting peace, serving humanity, and fostering dialogue among religions.
He went on to say: We also remember his historic visit to Iraq and his meeting with the Grand Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Al-Sistani in the holy city of Najaf — a momentous occasion that will forever remain in the collective memory of the Iraqi nation and the world.
Concluding his message, the Leader of the National Wisdom Movement extended his heartfelt condolences to the Christian community and prayed for eternal peace, serenity, and Divine Mercy for the Pope’s soul.
