SHAFAQNA– Sheikh Ahmad Qabalan, the prominent Ja’fari Mufti of Lebanon, expressed his condolences following the passing of Pope Francis.
According to Shafaqna, Sheikh Qabalan said in a statement: “With sincerity and deep affection, we extend our warmest condolences to all Christian brothers and followers of heavenly religions across the world due to the passing of Pope Francis, who played a major role in establishing the celestial spirit and human values as an essential bond between creation and mankind.”
He continued: “He called for the close convergence of religions, considering it a foundation for eternal voice and a criterion for the Divine Creator and God’s servants on Earth. He condemned oppression, especially the tyranny of world emperors and corrupt powers that continue their existence through injustice, killing, war, and disasters.”
He concluded: “This moment is a moment in history, a moment of Earth, Heaven, and the sanctity of humanity, and nothing is greater than the eternal voice that resounds with love, mercy, compassion, justice, and security for the creatures of God and God’s servants.”
