Shafaqna English– A worshipper was murdered in the Mosque of La Grand-Combe (Gard) on Friday (25 Apr 2025) morning, suffering dozens of stab wounds. This attack could be an Islamophobic act, as the perpetrator was recorded insulting “Allah” in a video he filmed immediately after the incident.
“I did it (…), your shitty Allah”, the murderer blurts out, twice, as he is filming the dying victim with his cell phone, according to a source close to the case. He then realized the presence of surveillance cameras in the Mosque: “I’m going to be arrested, that’s for sure”.
The suspect was still at large on Saturday, regional prosecutor Abdelkrim Grini told AFP.
The motive for the killing was unclear but security camera footage showed the suspected murderer insulting “Allah”, the Arabic term for God, a source close to the investigation told AFP.
