Shafaqna English– Over four million pilgrims visited Imam Reza (AS) Shrine during the birth anniversary celebrations.
The annual gathering draws millions of Iranians from across the country, along with Shia Muslims from other nations.
Mohammad Shaban, Deputy for Pilgrim Services at the shrine, said that the shrine operated at full capacity in cooperation with volunteer groups and public service tents known as Moukebs.
“During the ten-day Karamat celebrations, we hosted over four million pilgrims and local residents with warm meals and refreshments,” Shaban said.
According to Shaban, offerings included 4.6 million traditional cakes, 8 tons of chocolate, 200,000 sandwich strudels, 5,000 coconut pastries, and over 7 million cups of juice and syrup.
Additional data-x-items such as ice cream, fresh fruit, hot breakfasts, and herbal drinks were also distributed, particularly during Friday Prayers, which coincided with the birth anniversary this year.
