Shafaqna English– In a ceremony on 13 May 2025 at noon beside the sacred shrine of the Commander of the Faithful, Imam Ali (AS), the Grand Ayatollah Javadi Amoli presented the complete 80-volume set of Tafsir Al-Tasnim to the Alawi Holy Shrine.
According to Shafaqna, this event was attended by the custodian and several officials of the Alawi Shrine, along with dozens of scholars and teachers from the Najaf’s seminary. In his speech, the Grand Ayatollah Javadi Amoli elaborated on the status of the Holy Quran and Ahlul-Bayt (AS), stating: “A deep and correct understanding of the Quran is only possible through the Pure Ones (Ahlul-Taharah (AS)). No one has the right to speak on behalf of the Quran unless they are purified and have studied under the purified ones.”
He added: “The meaning of the Verse: ‘None touch it except the purified’ (the Quran 56:79) refers to Imam Ali (AS) and his pure offspring. True interpreters of the Quran are those raised in the school of purity and Ahlul-Bayt (AS).”
In another part of his address, he emphasized the unique position of the Najaf seminary, saying: “The Najaf’s seminary is a blessed institution that holds a great debt over the shoulders of other seminaries. It has drawn from Imam Ali (AS) and has long been a source of scholarly and spiritual knowledge for the Islamic world. The scholars of Najaf are teachers and mentors whose impact is seen across seminaries worldwide.”
Regarding Tafsir Al-Tasnim, he said: “This work was developed over 40 years and is the product of four generations of seminary scholars.” In conclusion, he spoke about the recent atrocities committed by the Zionist regime in Gaza, stating: “We must not forget the ongoing tragedy in Gaza. Israel and its supporters are constantly committing treachery. The Quran says to the Prophet: ‘You will always discover some betrayal from them’ (the Qur’an 5:13). We ask the Almighty God for the destruction of this usurping regime and Divine Punishment upon its founders and supporters.”
At the end of the ceremony, the Grand Ayatollah offered prayers for seminaries around the world, especially Najaf, and honored the scholarly and cultural contributions of its scholars. He expressed hope that all seminarians and believers, under the guidance of the Promised Savior Imam Mahdi (AJ), would be encompassed by Divine Mercy and Guidance.
In this grand ceremony, as a gesture of respect, the blessed flag of the shrine of Imam Ali (AS) was presented to the Grand Ayatollah by Seyyed Isa Al-Kharsan, Secretary-General of the Alawi Holy Shrine.
At the beginning of the ceremony, Seyyed Al-Kharsan and Hojjatul-Islam Seyyed Mohammad Ali Bahrul-Ulum warmly welcomed the Grand Ayatollah Javadi Amoli, praised his scholarly contributions in the Quranic exegesis, and emphasized the deep bond between the seminaries of Najaf and Qom under the light of the Quran and Ahlul-Bayt (AS).
