SHAFAQNA- Iraqi Ministry of Interior emphasized on Monday (16 June 2025) that the current regional situation will not impact the mourning ceremonies during the month of Muharram.
According to Al-Furat News, Miqdadd Al-Miri, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior, stated that the Ministry has already begun preparations for special security plans for Muharram, especially in the provinces of Najaf and Karbala.
He mentioned that efforts to organize the event and take necessary actions to ensure the performance of religious rituals are ongoing.
Al-Miri stressed the stability of the security situation and the continued readiness to ensure the smooth and secure conduct of Muharram ceremonies.
It is noteworthy that the Israeli regime launched heavy attacks on various regions of Iran starting from early Friday morning.
These developments have raised concerns about the security of the region and religious events, especially in Iraq.
