Shafaqna English- Thailand is accelerating efforts to become a key player in the global halal industry, as the worldwide halal market is projected to exceed $3.1 trillion by 2027. With strengths in food exports and internationally recognized quality standards, the country is enhancing its halal certification systems and targeting high-potential markets such as Indonesia, Malaysia, and Saudi Arabia, according to Nation Thailand.
In 2024, Thai exports to OIC member states reached $7.1 billion, with growth driven by rising demand for Halal-Certified rice, canned tuna, sugar, and seasonings.
“Thailand is well-positioned to serve the growing Muslim population worldwide with trusted Halal products,” said a Commerce Ministry’s Spokesperson. The government is working closely with private-sector partners to expand market access, boost competitiveness, and elevate the country’s status among the world’s top Halal exporters.
The move is part of Thailand’s broader trade strategy to drive inclusive and sustainable economic growth.
