Shafaqna English: The Iraqi Ministry of Interior announced in a statement that Al-Shammari, Minister of Interior/Head of the High Security Committee for Mass Pilgrimages, presided over a broad conference to discuss and review the implementation of the organizational and coordination plan for the first ten days of the Month of Muharram.
According to Middle East News, quoting the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the conference was attended by the Deputy Commander of Joint Operations, Deputy Ministers of the Interior, advisors, Commander of Baghdad Operations, number of security commanders, and members of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF). Police commanders from other provinces also took part via video conference.
At the conference, the Iraqi Minister of Interior issued a set of important recommendations to ensure the successful implementation of the plan. Among these was the prohibition of armed appearances and symbols under the pretext of protecting Hussaini processions — a task that, according to the Interior Ministry’s statement, is solely the responsibility of the Iraqi security forces.
