Shafaqna English- Vietnam is ramping up efforts to enter the global Halal market, with seafood and food producers seeking certification to expand exports to Muslim-majority countries, according to Vietnam Plus.
Following trade deals with Middle Eastern nations in late 2024, Vietnamese businesses—especially in agriculture and seafood—are pursuing Halal certification to tap into the fast-growing market that serves 25% of the global population.
Major exporters like Minh Phu, Vinh Hoan, and Bien Dong Seafood are aligning their production with Islamic standards, while companies like Vinamilk and Bibica are already exporting Halal-Certified products.
Authorities are also enhancing cooperation with Halal bodies in countries like Malaysia and Indonesia to ease certification and boost access. Experts say Halal compliance is both a challenge and an opportunity to diversify Vietnam’s export portfolio and increase revenue.
