Shafaqna interview with Press TV: Myanmar crisis

SHAFAQNA – Malaysia’s Prime Minister says the fact that the Rohingya are forced to flee Myanmar is a tragic indictment of the situation they face at home.

Razak made the remarks in an urgent meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Kuala Lumpur. He said the persecution of the Rohigya community at home has the potential to impact the security and stability of the entire south-east Asia region. The OIC is trying to pile pressure on the government of Aung San Suu kyi to stop the bloody violence against the Rohingya. It is estimated that thousands have been killed and tens of thousands displaced with entire villages razed to the ground in the crackdown led by the army and radical Buddhists since 2012. On Wednesday, 41 Myanmar civil society groups called for an independent international probe into the violence.
