Shafaqna English- Iraqi Interior Minister Abdul Al-Shammari affirmed on Saturday (26 July 2025) that Iraq is fully prepared to receive and host millions of pilgrims commemorating Arbaeen 2025.
According to Shafaqna, citing the Iraqi News Agency (INA), Al-Shammari made the remarks during a meeting in Baghdad with Deputy Interior Ministers from the Islamic Republic of Iran and Pakistan. The meeting was part of ongoing joint coordination efforts focused on ensuring security and providing services for the Arbaeen pilgrimage.
“The Iraqi people—both the government and citizens of all backgrounds and ethnicities—take great pride in serving the pilgrims of Imam Hussein (PBUH),” al-Shammari stated. “They find deep spiritual and human fulfillment in this noble duty.”
He emphasized that Iraq has mobilized the full capacity of its security and service institutions to welcome pilgrims from around the world. “This reflects a spirit of unity and fraternity among nations, and underscores the deep significance of this occasion in the hearts of Iraqis,” he added.
