Shafaqna English- The first phase of the Lebanese government’s plan to return Syrian refugees to their homeland has begun through the Al-Masnaa border crossing.
According to Shafaqna Persian, Al-Akhbar wrote that the gathering point has been designated at the sports field of Al-Nahda Club in the Bar Elias area, so that convoys can depart for an organized return to Syria. This measure is being carried out in coordination between the General Directorate of General Security of Lebanon and the Syrian authorities.
According to the report, in the first phase of returning Syrian refugees to their country, three buses departed from the official Bar Elias school carrying 72 Syrians from 14 families, while two trucks transported their belongings to the Lebanon-Syria border. This operation is part of an organized return campaign for Syrian refugees in Lebanon, carried out in coordination with international organizations and the Lebanese government, with financial assistance provided to those returning.
In June of last year, the Lebanese government unveiled a new multi-phase plan to return refugees to Syria, which divides the return into two types: organized and unorganized. In the organized type, registration is completed and buses are provided to transport refugees inside Syria, and each refugee will receive $100.
