Shafaqna English- Iran’s knowledge-based companies will take part in the 21st Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS) from September 17–20, aiming to expand the country’s presence in the global Halal market, Press TV reported.
The event, Southeast Asia’s leading Halal trade fair, offers Iran a platform to showcase its innovations in food, healthcare, and pharmaceuticals — key sectors in the $2 trillion Halal economy.
With strong agricultural resources and a growing biotech sector, Iran sees MIHAS as a chance to attract international partners and align with global trends in ethical and sustainable production.
However, the absence of a widely recognized national Halal Certification remains a major hurdle. Iranian exporters often rely on foreign certifiers, raising costs and limiting influence.
Participation in MIHAS could help Iran address this gap, forge new partnerships, and explore ways to improve infrastructure, packaging, and compliance — essential steps for gaining a stronger foothold in global Halal value chains.
