SHAFAQNA – The Grand Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi answered a question about performing Salaat in a place where sins are committed.

Question: What is the ruling about performing Salaat in a place where sins are committed, for example a place where some people are drinking wine or backbiting is being committed or gambling is done?

The Grand Ayatollah Makarem: There is problem to perform Salaat in a place where sins are committed; but when the time is running out and there is no possibility of coming out, performing Salaat is sufficient and there is no need to re-perform it.
