Cambodia Seeks Malaysian Investment in Halal Food Sector

Shafaqna English- Cambodia is seeking greater Malaysian investment, particularly in Halal food processing, to expand bilateral trade, Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol said on Thursday (21 Aug 2025), as Asian News Network reported. 

Chanthol met Malaysian ambassador Shaharuddin Onn at the Council for the Development of Cambodia, highlighting opportunities for direct investment. The envoy welcomed Cambodia’s recent ceasefire with Thailand, calling it a step toward stability and growth.

Bilateral trade rose 11.2% to $598.2 million in January–July, with Cambodian exports up 2.4% and imports up 12.7%, customs data showed.
