Shafaqna English- After seven years of silence and rubble following destruction in 2017 by Daesh, the Grand Al-Nuri Mosque in Iraq’s Mosul hosted its first central celebration of the Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) birth anniversary.
On Wednesday (03 Sep 2025) the Mosque hosted its first central celebration of the Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) birth anniversary, just two days after it re-opened under the leadership of Prime Minister Al-Sudani.
The event, which had been absent for many years, attracted residents and local officials, thereby restoring the Mosque’s symbolic and spiritual significance.
