Shafaqna English- Saudi Arabia’s investments in the tourism sector are paying off, with the country’s summer tourism revenues rising by 15% to more than 53.2 billion riyals (over $14 billion), according to the Saudi Ministry of Tourism.
According to MDEAST News, citing Okaz, the ministry announced record-breaking results for the “Saudi Summer 2025” program, with more than 32 million domestic and international tourists visiting various destinations across the country—a 26% increase compared to last summer.
The Asir region in southwestern Saudi Arabia stood out with a remarkable 49% growth in attracting tourists from Persian Gulf Arab countries.
The ministry attributed this success to continuous efforts to expand the tourism sector and enhance the Kingdom’s attractions, in line with the goals of Vision 2030—which aims to position Saudi Arabia as one of the world’s leading travel destinations. Future plans include developing innovative tourism products, hosting international cultural events, and improving the quality of tourism services.
