Malaysia-Thailand to boost Halal trade

Shafaqna English- Malaysia and Thailand have agreed to deepen trade cooperation by expanding opportunities in the Halal industry and agriculture, Malaysian Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz said on Saturday (25 Oct 2025), as reported by BERNAMA.

He said the move underscores both nations’ commitment to strengthening economic ties amid global geopolitical and geoeconomics uncertainties. Malaysia and Thailand will continue discussions under their Joint Trade Committee, which is expected to meet again next year.

Thailand is Malaysia’s third-largest trading partner in ASEAN, with bilateral trade reaching $18.64 billion between January and August 2025. The two countries aim to raise total trade to $30 billion by 2027.
