Shafaqna English- In Kashmir, farmers have started harvesting the bright red cockscomb flowers, locally known as Mawal.
The fields in many areas of Baramulla and Budgam now glow with red color as farmers cut and dry the flowers. The dried Mawal is used in Kashmiri dishes and sold in local markets, bringing a good income to many families.
