Shafaqna English- Italy’s Ministry for Foreign Affairs, the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) and UNESCO launched a program to improve access to Inclusive Quality Education in Southern Iraq.
The initiative intends to increase educational opportunities for thousands of out-of-school children in the Iraqi provinces of Basra, Dhi-Qar, and Maysan, according to a statement released by UNESCO.
The initiative builds on UNESCO and AICS’s strong relationship, which has already provided education to almost 160,000 children in Iraq since 2018.
This initiative aims to provide 40,000 out-of-school children with safe and inclusive learning opportunities, strengthen teaching and learning environments, and build the capacity of teachers and Parent-Teacher Associations.
