Shafaqna English- At the Global Halal Brazil Business Forum 2025, industry leaders presented how innovations such as blockchain, digital certification and precision agriculture are transforming the Halal food sector, turning it into a dynamic global growth engine valued at over USD 1.4 trillion, according to ANBA.
Speakers at the forum in São Paulo highlighted that technology is driving both quantitative and qualitative change in the halal industry. Digital Halal certifications now use QR-codes and blockchain for full transparency of supply chains, while “Industry 4.0” systems with cameras and algorithms monitor meat-packing operations for traceability and ESG compliance.
Biotechnology and precision livestock practices were also showcased as next-generation tools to meet halal demand sustainably, with Brazil emphasising its role in both Halal and climate-smart agriculture. Challenges remain, including supporting smaller producers and harmonising global standards, but forum participants said the “Halal of the future” is already being built.
