Iraq announces public holiday to ease post-election operations
Iraqi Prime Minister Al-Sudani authorized the suspension of official working hours in all government departments and institutions, with the exception of groups assigned continuing responsibilities, to allow for the completion of post-election processes.
According to a statement released by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the initiative intends to provide the Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) and security services enough time to finish the transfer of ballot boxes and finalize the evacuation of schools that served as voting stations.
