Shafaqna English– The cabinet of Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi endorsed an economic stimulus package worth 21.3 trillion yen ($135.40 billion) on Friday (21 Nov 2025), representing the first significant policy action taken by the new leader, who has committed to implementing expansionary fiscal policies.
The package consists of total account expenditures amounting to 17.7 trillion yen, significantly higher than last year’s 13.9 trillion yen and marking the largest stimulus effort since the COVID pandemic. Additionally, it will feature 2.7 trillion yen in tax reductions.
