Morning Coffee May Cut “Heart Rhythm Risk” By 39%

Shafaqna English- In a surprising reversal of decades of medical advice, new research shows that daily coffee consumption may significantly reduce the risk of atrial fibrillation (AFib).

The clinical trial found that drinking just one cup of caffeinated coffee per day lowered AFib risk by 39% among participants.

The DECAF study, the first randomized clinical trial to test coffee’s effects on heart rhythm, followed 200 patients with existing heart conditions. Those assigned to drink coffee daily showed substantially better outcomes than those who avoided caffeine completely, challenging long-standing warnings about coffee and heart health.

Researchers suggest coffee’s benefits may come from increased physical activity, blood pressure reduction, and anti-inflammatory properties. This groundbreaking evidence indicates that for many people, coffee may be not only safe but actively protective against dangerous heart rhythm disorders.
