Shafaqna English– Parents in New York City could soon benefit from free child care for their 2‑year‑olds, through a plan to be announced Thursday(8 Jan 2026) by Governor Kathy Hochul and Mayor Zohran Mamdani.
According to Hochul, child care costs are unmanageable for New York families. She pledged, alongside Mamdani, to deliver a roadmap that will transform life for working parents and kids.
