Shafaqna English– The Karbala Provincial Council confirmed on Tuesday(3 Feb 2026) the completion of all service, security, and organizational preparations for holding the million-person pilgrimage in mid-Sha’ban.
Qassem Yassari, a member of the council, stated: “Karbala province has fully finalized its preparations to welcome millions of pilgrims from inside and outside Iraq, within the framework of comprehensive service, security, and organizational plans.”
Yassari added: “The local government in Karbala, in extensive coordination with the holy shrines of Imam Hussein (AS) and al-Abbas (AS), as well as service, security, and health departments, has implemented all plans developed to successfully hold this pilgrimage, ensure smooth movement of pilgrims, and provide them with the best services.”
