Report: Pakistan arrests over 7,000 Afghan migrants

Shafaqna English- Pakistan arrests a total of 7,015 Afghan migrants from January 1 to January 31, 2026, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) said in a joint report.

According to the report, the highest number of arrests was recorded in Balochistan, accounting for 3,713 cases.

Earlier, the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation announced the release of more than 100 Afghan migrants from Pakistani prisons, adding that last week, 153 Afghan migrants who had been detained in Pakistan were released and returned to Afghanistan following their release.
