Shafaqna English- Thousands of Palestinians gathered for the first Tarawih prayer on Tuesday evening at the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in Jerusalem, marking the beginning of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. Israeli police maintained a visible presence throughout the site. Worshippers filled both the covered prayer halls and the open courtyards of the mosque, while Sheikh Yusuf Abu Sneineh, the mosque’s preacher, led the evening prayers, according to eyewitness accounts.
Footage shared online showed Israeli police stationed inside the compound and moving among the worshippers during the prayers.
