UN: Gender-Blind Urban Infrastructure raises safety risks for women & girls

Shafaqna English- UN-Habitat has stated that gender-blind urban infrastructure increases safety risks for women and girls.

On Wednesday, March 25, the organization noted that such infrastructure also deprives women and girls of privacy and human dignity.

UN-Habitat previously warned that rapid urbanization—driven by internal displacement, forced returns, and a worsening economic crisis—continues to exacerbate gender inequalities across the country.
