Shafaqna English- A senior official from the Iranian Red Crescent has reported that nearly 600 educational centers across the country have been targeted in unlawful attacks by U.S. and Israeli forces, warning that these strikes amount to “war crimes.”
Razieh Alishvandi, the deputy for international affairs and humanitarian law at the Red Crescent Society, stated on Sunday that “the enemy has targeted approximately 600 educational centers, including schools, universities, and other academic facilities.”
These attacks have put the lives of students, researchers, and professors at risk, resulting in numerous casualties. Alishvandi emphasized that educational institutions are fully protected under international humanitarian law and the Geneva Conventions. She added that “failure to observe these protections constitutes a violation of international laws and can be considered a war crime.”
