Slight uptick in inflation in India

Shafaqna English– According to government data released on Monday(13 Apr 2026), India’s consumer price inflation edged up slightly to 3.4% in March. This comes amid concerns that a lengthy conflict in the Middle East and weak monsoon rains could push living costs higher in the months ahead. Annual inflation reached its highest level since January, though it remained below the central bank’s 4% target.
