Shafaqna English- The EU will invite Taliban officials to Brussels for talks on returning migrants, particularly those with criminal convictions, to Afghanistan.
Around 20 EU countries are working to tighten immigration policies and facilitate deportations, with Germany and Austria already deporting Afghans since 2024.
The move has raised ethical concerns, especially given Afghanistan’s humanitarian crisis and the Taliban’s unrecognised status in Europe.
