Tehran to host Islamic Human Rights Conference on weekend

SHAFAQNA – The Iranian capital of Tehran will host the Islamic Human Rights Conference later this weekend, with domestic and foreign thinkers in attendance.

The international conference, which discusses human rights issues from an Islamic perspective, will be held at the University of Tehran’s Faculty of World Studies on Saturday, April 15.

The gathering has been jointly organized by the Islamic Human Rights Commission, Iranian World Studies Association, and International Center of Qom Islamic Seminary’s Islamic Propagation Bureau.

Scholars and thinkers from Iran, Britain, Malaysia and the US will present their papers on similarities and differences between the human rights principles of Islam and the prevailing doctrine of human rights in the Western society.

Common and distinctive features of Islamic human rights in the domain of ontology and Islamic human rights issues from intra- and extra-religious preservatives are among the topics that will be discussed in the international gathering.
