Shafaqna English- The United Nations Security Council will hold a session on the situation in Afghanistan next week.
UNAMA said that on June 8, 2026, the United Nations Security Council will hold a meeting to review the situation in Afghanistan and UNAMA’s mandate. It also added that on June 16, the mandate of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) will be extended.
The most recent meeting of the United Nations Security Council on Afghanistan was held on February 7, 2026.
