Shafaqna English– On Tuesday(9 Jun 2026), the U.S. dollar stayed close to a two-month peak and strengthened against most major currencies, as uncertainty in the Middle East reduced investors’ appetite for risk and traders increased their wagers on a Fed interest rate hike later this year.
U.S. attempts to reach a lasting deal with Iran to end their conflict, which has lasted more than three months, have made little progress. This has kept oil prices high and boosted demand for the dollar as a safe-haven asset.
