Shafaqna English– On Monday(15 Jun 2026), gold prices jumped by more than 2% following an announcement from U.S. and Iranian officials that they had reached a preliminary agreement to end their war. This development drove oil prices down and alleviated worries over inflation and potential interest rate hikes.
As of 03:12 GMT, spot gold had increased by 2.5%, reaching $4,322.87 per ounce. This marked its highest level since June 9 and represented a third consecutive session of gains. Gold futures for August delivery on U.S. markets also rose 2.5% to $4,344.80.
Officials from the U.S. and Iran stated on Sunday that they have agreed on a framework to conclude their war, cease the U.S. blockade of Iran, and restore traffic through the Strait of Hormuz.
