Shafaqna English– Sweden’s parliament approved a law on Monday(15 Jun 2026) that allows officials to revoke residency permits for immigrants based on misbehavior, such as outstanding debts, off-the-books work, or associations with extremist organizations.
Covering both pending and already-issued permits on a retroactive basis, this law forms part of a wider crackdown on immigration rules by the right-wing government and its nationalist backers, the Sweden Democrats, ahead of the parliamentary election in September.
