Shafaqna English– The dollar dipped slightly on Wednesday(17 Jun 2026), as markets awaited the Federal Reserve’s first policy announcement under new chair Kevin Warsh, while continued hopes for a temporary U.S.-Iran peace agreement boosted risk sentiment and reduced demand for the dollar as a safe haven.
Despite a weaker dollar, the yen struggled to recover and stayed fixed at levels that traders consider a warning zone for currency intervention. The BOJ’s well-signalled rate hike on Tuesday also failed to shed much light on the policy outlook.
