The Grand Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi answered a question about candidates (in elections) criticizing each other in public.
Question: What is the ruling about criticizing and talking about negative points of candidates (in elections) in gatherings or between two individuals?
The Grand Ayatollah makarem: there is no problem if it is consultation for voting; but their characteristics must be talked about; there must be no insult or reproach, disrespect or God forbid accusations.
