Shafaqna English– The official death toll from last week’s torrential‑rain‑induced flash floods in Gansu, northwestern China, has been raised substantially. Xinhua, the state‑run news agency, reported on Sunday(2 Aug 2026) that 25 people are now confirmed dead and 23 others wounded.
This upward revision comes just days after the initial emergency reports, which had placed the number of deceased at only 10, following the cloudburst that hit Weiyuan County on July 26.
