Shafaqna English– Samuel Eto’o, who currently serves as the president of the Cameroon Football Federation, has publicly stated that African football nations ought to rally behind Gianni Infantino, the incumbent president of FIFA. In making his case, Eto’o praised Infantino for his role in hastening the progress and institutional growth of football associations across the African continent, while also pointing to the expanded access that more African countries now have to qualify for the World Cup as a direct result of Infantino’s policies.
Speaking with French newspaper L’Equipe, the Cameroon FA president offered high praise for Infantino, stating simply but powerfully: “President Gianni Infantino has changed football.” The remark underscored Eto’o’s belief that Infantino’s impact on the sport has been profound and lasting.
