Shafaqna English– On Thursday(3 Sep 2026), China’s state-run media outlets issued urgent warnings regarding the imminent threat of flash floods across the southeastern coastal province of Fujian, as torrential rains unleashed by the powerful Typhoon Saudel continued to batter the region.
Simultaneously, in the eastern province of Zhejiang, the same storm system caused severe flooding that trapped a group of teachers and students inside a school compound, cutting off their access to safe evacuation routes and leaving them stranded as water levels rose around the facility.
The typhoon, which made landfall earlier in the week, has been lashing multiple provinces with intense rainfall and gale-force winds, prompting authorities to activate emergency response protocols and mobilize rescue teams to assist affected communities.
