Shafaqna English– Gold prices remained relatively stable during Friday’s(4 Sep 2026) trading session, yet the precious metal was still positioned to register a slight increase for the week.
This modest upward trajectory came as investors reduced their expectations for an interest rate hike at the Federal Reserve’s September meeting, choosing instead to adopt a wait-and-see approach ahead of the highly anticipated U.S. non-farm payrolls report.
The employment data, which is due for release later in the day, is expected to provide critical insights into the strength of the labor market and could significantly influence the central bank’s monetary policy decisions in the months ahead.
By 0910 GMT, the spot price of gold had recorded only a marginal change, settling at $4,474.78 per ounce, reflecting the market’s cautious stance.
Meanwhile, U.S. gold futures contracts for December delivery experienced a modest decline of 0.4%, dropping to $4,521.40 per ounce. This slight divergence between spot and futures prices highlights the market’s uncertainty ahead of the upcoming economic data releases.
