Shafaqna English- Nigeria’s business community is urging investors and entrepreneurs to tap into the estimated $7 trillion global halal economy and position the country as a major African hub for halal products and services, according to Daily Trust.
The Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) issued the call ahead of the London Halal Forum 2026, scheduled for October 10–11 at the Queen Elizabeth II Centre in London.
The forum, organized by Halal360 in partnership with institutions including the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development, is expected to bring together investors, policymakers, entrepreneurs and industry experts from more than 100 countries under the theme “Halal as Transformative Economy.”
NACCIMA said opportunities span food and agriculture, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, Islamic finance, tourism, logistics, manufacturing and consumer services.
The association believes Nigeria’s large consumer market, agricultural resources, youthful population and strategic position within the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) could help it capture a larger share of the market.
Greater participation, NACCIMA said, could attract investment, increase local production and value addition, expand non-oil exports and create jobs.
The association called for stronger international partnerships, improved standards and certification, greater local production and better access to global markets, saying Nigeria has the potential to move from being primarily a halal consumer to becoming a producer, exporter and investment destination.
