Shafaqna English– In an official announcement released on Sunday, Italian Serie A side Fiorentina confirmed that they had relieved head coach Fabio Grosso of his duties. The decision came in the wake of three consecutive losses in the opening fixtures of the campaign, which had seen the club sink to the very bottom of the league standings.
Fiorentina’s dismal run included a 4‑0 thrashing away to AS Roma, followed by a 3‑0 home humiliation at the hands of newly promoted Frosinone, and culminated in a 2‑1 home loss to Torino on Saturday. Over these three matches, the Viola managed to find the net only once while conceding nine goals, highlighting their defensive fragility and attacking impotence. Their next challenge is an away fixture against Venezia on Friday.
