Shafaqna English- Canadian Muslim groups and a prominent human rights advocate expressed approval on Wednesday for Ottawa’s move to join 11 nations in banning trade with illegal Israeli settlements in the West Bank.
Ahmad Al Qadi, the Government Affairs and Public Policy Officer at the NCCM, stated during a news conference in Ottawa that the organization supports the government’s clear ban on products from these settlements. He added,
“While this measure should have been implemented earlier, September 8th, 2026, will be recognised as a significant milestone in Canada’s history.”
