Shafaqna English– In its largest European investment to date, Alphabet’s Google will spend at least €13 billion ($15.1 billion) over two years to expand AI infrastructure in Finland, a cold Nordic country, and has struck a significant nuclear power supply agreement to support the project.
The U.S. firm announced Wednesday that the plan includes building three new data centers in northern Finland, where winter temperatures can drop well below minus 10 degrees Celsius (14 degrees Fahrenheit).
The combination of cheap cooling from the frigid climate and nuclear energy underscores how AI’s massive power needs are reshaping Big Tech’s infrastructure strategy in Europe.
